Winter Improvements at Camp Pinnacle

Despite over 10 inches of rain this year (and no snow yet,)  we are continuing to make all kinds of improvements to Camp Pinnacle.

Below are pictures of the new walkway along the lake which replaces the old sea wall.  The new fishing pier is beautiful. Thanks Tom, Nick, Alaska and Joe!

Construction on the new water slide is on hold until a new custom made slide piece is engineered and constructed.  (We wanted to go around a big tree rather than through it!)  We think Ben is actually stalling so his inaugural water slide run won’t be into an ice covered lake!

We just purchased a new pool table for the game room and  a dozen new Jamis mountain bikes are on order, doubling the size of our fleet!

We are fixing up the space under the library (which was closed last summer) to create a new ping pong / indoor play area in case we have a rainy day.  There is lots going on – there is  much to do to get ready for your best summer ever!

We are getting very excited about the incredible summer ahead!  Mark your calendar our Spring Open House will be Saturday, May 4th.  When you come, you can preview all we have been doing to update and upgrade Camp Pinnacle!

The next day Sunday, May 5th will be the second annual GNAR – The Gnarliest Kids Adventure Race Ever!  It benefits The Mountain Community School, our local Charter School.  The GNAR is a kids only race with many great activity stations which include running, biking, paddling and climbing. Between the CP Open House and the GNAR – it will be a fun-filled weekend in western North Carolina.  Put it on your calendar! We hope to see you!
