We are so excited—the new dining room completely exceeds our expectations!

It’s a beautiful space, and the wood floors, made from refinished wood milled more than 100 years ago from native hardwood, are absolutely gorgeous. We’ve kept the old fireplace and the old locust poles, so the new dining hall fits perfectly into camp and has a timeless look. With more outdoor deck space and new sweeping stone steps, we feel it better connects the dining hall to Wolfe Lake and the outdoor campus.

We believe in a rustic, outdoor camp experience, and though the building is hardly rustic, we are excited for the ways this beautiful new space will enhance our camp community experience. We are also excited about our new landscaping that includes a wide variety of native plants.

On Saturday, April 22, we hosted an open house and grand opening of the dining hall. About 75 folks were in attendance, including other camp directors, alumni, the Kussrow family who has owned Pinnacle for 90 years, some of our summer staff, and many new and returning campers and their families. Chef Richard cooked his famous BBQ for us as we celebrated the first of many delicious meals in this great new space.

We’d like to thank Ken Gaylord Architects, Blackhawk Construction, Josh Hollifeld (our table builder and site foreman), our landscaper Caleb Wetzel, and our many subcontractors for all of their combined hard work that facilitated this beautiful dining hall for camp.

We can’t wait for you to see it on opening day!
