After six years of service to Camp Pinnacle, Ben Lea is moving on to accept new challenges. We greatly appreciate his many contributions to the success and revitalization of Camp Pinnacle. We will miss his tremendous rapport with staff and campers, and his commitment to harnessing the power of the camp experience to affect young lives.

Ben came on board in 2011 as our first director, and the second employee at the re-opened Camp Pinnacle. We appreciate his hard work, vision, and dedication to creating an incredible experience for our campers. He has helped oversee the complete rehabilitation of Camp Pinnacle, and helped us grow from our initial 50 campers in our first summer to 630 campers in 2017. More importantly, he has added many ideas that have improved camp.

In honor of Ben’s service and love of mountain biking, we are officially naming one of our favorite trails in the Wildwood section of camp “Ben Lea’s Legacy.” Future campers who haven’t had the privilege to get to know Ben will now see he will be forever remembered as an important and integral part of Camp Pinnacle history and tradition.

Ben is moving south to Spartanburg, SC, leaving the camping industry behind and starting his own repurposed custom furniture and curiosity company called The Mad Matter (the-mad-matter.com).

We will all miss Ben next summer!
