girl mountain bikingAs we approach the summer, we are delighted to welcome our Hillside director, Margaret Timberlake to the leadership team. In her past three summers at Camp Pinnacle, Margaret has developed a deep appreciation for our wonderful camp community. Margaret is excited come back to Camp Pinnacle for her fourth summer and to contribute to creating an inclusive community for campers and staff members alike.

Margaret will be graduating from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in women’s studies. She’s passionate about mental health support in the outdoors and hopes to contribute to making outdoor spaces more accessible to all people. Her desire for getting more people outside led her to work for the University of Georgia as a Trip Leader (see second photo) and serve as the Vice President of the UGArden Club. When Margaret isn’t in class, trip leading, or at events for UGArden Club, she loves to mountain bike, spend with friends, and have adventures exploring the great outdoors.

As a camper, Margaret went to nearby Camp Greystone and fell in love with western North Carolina. Her excitement for camp and outdoor adventure led her to work for Camp Pinnacle in 2019, where she has since spent every summer in a variety of roles including counselor, trip leader, and support team member. Working at camp encouraged Margaret to earn a Wilderness First Responder certification, develop as a servant leader, and grow in her ability to problem solve and support others. Margaret is eager to get to know our camp families and offer support to our Hillside campers and staff.
