What Makes Our Days Special

Active Days, Happy Campers

Our days are full by design; packed with adventure, laughter, and movement that keep campers engaged and energized. By lights out, they’re ready for the kind of deep sleep that only comes from a day well lived.

Balance of Choice and Structure

Campers try every activity once, then spend weekends and free periods building skills in what they love most. Structure meets freedom, helping them discover new passions at their own pace.

Friends That Feel Like Family

Cabin groups share daily adventures and challenges, building strong bonds that make camp feel like home. Outside cabin time, free-choice blocks encourage campers to reach out and form friendships across camp.

Adventures Beyond Camp

Rafting, hiking, and camping trips let campers explore the Blue Ridge Mountains and see what they’re capable of. We’re not a hardcore wilderness program; we believe in comfort, safety, and reasonable risk as we gently inspire kids to love the outdoors.

Curious what a day might look like for your child?

First-Time Campers

For first-time campers, our goal is simple: help them feel safe, supported, and excited from the moment they arrive. With small-group adventures, patient counselors, and even treehouses near their cabins, new campers gain confidence step by step.

Growing Through the Years

The Wolfe Pack

As campers grow, their experiences at Camp Pinnacle grow with them.

The Wolfe Pack is a three-year journey for high school students who want to grow as confident, capable leaders. Each summer builds on the last through adventure, mentorship, and purpose-driven challenges.

Wolfe Pack members mentor younger campers, serve the community, and take on meaningful responsibilities that leave a lasting impact.

By their final year, they’ve earned over 100 service hours—and gained the confidence and perspective to lead in college, careers, and life.

Dear Camp Pinnacle

We didn’t want too much time to pass before sharing how thrilled we are with our first Camp Pinnacle experience.

We hoped Sofie would be okay away from home, acclimate to a high warmth, high structure social environment, and be exposed to the many wonderful ways to be a girl, a teen, and a friend. Camp Pinnacle exceeded our expectations on all three counts.

Your care and expertise shine in the details. Sofie mentioned she didn’t look in a full-length mirror all week. I loved that small but meaningful choice — one that shifted her attention away from how she looks and toward how she feels, which matters so much at this age.

Sofie returned home with a multi-year plan to make Camp Pinnacle her home away from home. Far from being nervous without us, she thrived with the counselors’ attention, structured independence, and, to our pleasant surprise, rules.

She spent the weekend flipping through camp photos and loved saying, “Oh, that’s an inside joke. You wouldn’t get it.” We loved that too. It meant she felt safe enough to build a social world of her own.

She also thinks she’s taller now, definitely more mature, “like a 12-year-old,” wants to add pickleball to her activity rotation, and even asked about becoming a junior counselor.
Needless to say, she plans to return next summer “for as long as you’ll have me.” We’re already trying to bring some of the 5 Rs into our home routine.

The most meaningful photo she brought home was of new friends.
Thank you for such a strong start to her camp journey. We’ll see you next year.
