Camp Pinnacle was the perfect place for my children to be able to experience so many activities that are just not available to them in South Florida. It was very important that went sent our children to a camp where they would feel safe and be able to explore and develop a greater love for the outdoors. Camp Pinnacle exceeded all of our expectations.
In just two weeks, your child will raft a river, climb a real rock face, see great views from atop a mountain, and camp out overnight. But believe it or not, we are not a hardcore wilderness camp. We work with kids at their own comfort and skill levels, as we know that for many first-time campers, just being away from home can be a challenge.
To make the transition to camp life an easy one, we have a game room, a putt-putt golf course, a 200-ft water slide, riflery and archery ranges and loads of other non-intimidating activities. We want to fully engage campers as we introduce kids to activities that can’t be easily done at home.
Every camper's daily schedule typically includes 5 or 6 different activities. Daily activities are balanced between ones where campers learn valuable new skills and others which are "just for fun." On most days, campers will participate in activities with their cabin group. There are also free choice periods when campers can choose the activities that interest them most. The Camp Pinnacle waterfront provides plenty of opportunity for fun on and around the water!
We teach a wide variety of lifetime sports and games. We begin with a foundation of safety and then teach the requisite skills for a lifetime of fun activity. Campers usually will do one or two of these fun activities every single day. Individual sports include:
Whether its making a lanyard in our craft shop, face painting with friends, or practicing yoga on the main lawn, campers are encouraged to boost their creativity at Camp Pinnacle. Creativity activities include:
Campers love participating in our nature program. We may go out and collect animals for our nature lab, measured dissolved oxygen in our creeks, learn about mushrooms and other fungi, or learn to identify native and edible plants. One of our goals at Camp Pinnacle is to develop a love of nature, and everyone gets to participate in our nature program. As part of our Ventures Program we will explore the beautiful mountain ecosystems outside of Camp Pinnacle. Camp Pinnacle doubles as an 126 acre outdoor science lab and we even run science based programs for schools here in the fall.
We have ample field space on our Camp Pinnacle campus to offer a variety of fun sports and Games. These sports supplement our skilled activities with the opportunity to play as a team and run around. Our current field sports include:
Each camper builds the prerequisite outdoor skills (climbing, hiking, biking, camping and paddling) during in camp activity session's on the Camp Pinnacle property. Our property is expansive enough that we have extensive single track mountain biking and hiking trails on property. We also have three developed campsites on property. The on campus learning prepares campers for our exciting and age-appropriate out-of-camp trips, which we call Ventures.
